Seissor you realize the ones they're replacing are Prophecy only skills, not everyone will own Prophecies and Factions..

Duplicates are good.

Kind of unusual, but I'd noticed the duplicate skills. Bestial Haste = Tiger's Fury on the Ranger end, for instance. Weirded me out for a bit. I'd just thought they were renaming some skills.

Why would someone need two copies of Tiger's Fury?...>_<

You wouldn't, necessarily. The people that only buy Factions won't have two copies.

Ok, here's the skinny on skills. Just got the word from the various skill experts: There are 300 new skills in the game during this event. Plus, in order to give players the opportunity to sort of "double up" on a few skills, we are offering duplications of about 30.

So yes, you have all your new skills.
Yes, you have duplicates.
And yes, this is a good thing.

I'm really glad that someone asked, because this tidbit about our plans with this skill situation flew past me and I really thought maybe we had placeholders. Now I know it's intended for you to be able to use multiples of a select few, as another strategic element of the game.[/

Dude...There are "CORE" skills, "PROPHECIES" skills and "FACTIONS" skills
And if im not wrong...People who have factions only or prophecies only will have access to the core skills...however..people who own factions ONLY will not have access to prophecies skills and vice versa....and if u own both n create a char in the prophecies campaign ..u wont have access to the factions skills...and if u create a char in the factions campaign u wont have access to the prophecies skills...but both will have access to the core skills. Thats why they split the char creation screen into prophecies n factions if im nt wrong.
If im wrong dont flame me..thats just what seems logical to me...cos it would be kinda dumb if u could have 2 similar skills but different names in ur skill set.

Edit: This is however different when we're talkin about Elite Skills

Wow, I've seen people fuss about bad henchies, pvp, and bots... but this is by far the most irrelevant issue to boycott a game over.

Lol? In other words: we are too lazy to come up with 300 new UNIQUE skills so we doubled up some of the old ones... This is ridiculous. I am not getting a single skill that is doubled. Why? Coz I don't like getting fed junk, thank you very much. Least they could've done is come up with 30 more skills. This strategic bs is insulting. Factions has 270 or so new skills, not 300, so call it what it is and don't mislead the community. Like other people have said before me- there is 0 strategic benefit from having those skills doubled. 0. Now pay those skill "experts" a few more hours of work and give us 30 more UNIQUE skills. If this continues like that (along with the ridiculous faction system that is taking forever to unlock the skills I need) I am clearly going to switch to a different game. GG.

For the bloody sake of saints, THE DUPLICATE SKILLS ARE INTENDED FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT OWN PROPHECIES. If you DO, you can use DUPLICATES. If you do NOT own Prophecies, you get a Prophecies skill with a different name, so you can use a skill with the same effect. Okay? OKAY!

besides gaile only said that there will be about 30 skills duplicated. 30 out of 300 is 270 new skills, good enough for me.

Because they didn't want to do it that way. Sorry if I reacted a little harshly, I just ~cannot~ stand people criticizing programmers or developers for any reason, and have a tendency to go a bit overboard. >_<;
They didn't want to include them in core skills becase... x. Missing reason. Regardless, at least 270 are new.

Because if people want to have double skill, they have to pay twice the price. IMO, it has to do with marketing:

If you want to equit the same skill twice, then you have to pay more.
